Emergency symptoms
Sudden severe upper-abdominal pain, pain that radiates to the back, persistent vomiting, fever, rapid heartbeat, or feeling faint. Call emergency services right away.
Warning signs to watch
Repeated episodes of upper-abdominal pain after fatty meals, nausea, bloating, blood samples that looks pale or milky on lab draws, and small yellowish bumps on the skin.
After an attack
Fatigue, sensitivity to fatty foods, new or worsening blood sugar control, and anxiety about recurrence are all common and deserve follow-up care.
Common symptoms
- Severe upper abdominal pain

- Nausea and vomiting
- Fever
- Rapid heartbeat
- Swollen or tender abdomen
- Difficulty eating or drinking
Symptoms often begin suddenly and may worsen rapidly. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should seek immediate medical attention.
